Madelene Sagström has had a great spring where she made it to the quarterfinals of the match play tournament in Las Vegas and the week before it was a third place in the LPGA competition Cognizant Founders Cup.

The focus is now on the major competition US-Open.

How is the shape of a scale one to ten?

- Can you say eleven?

It feels great.

I am happy with my game in recent months, so it has really gone in the right direction, Sagström says to SVT Sport.

One reason why it has gone so well is that the minimum level has been raised.

- I have picked up the game when I do not play so well.

It's not so low dips.

That which is good is good, but that which is worse has been improved.

As many as eight Swedes are in the starting field before the competition, a sign that Swedish women's golf is on the rise.

- It's great that so many of us are here.

Swedish women's golf is really strong right now.

We are all out there pushing each other even though we all want to hit each other at the same time.

- We have a good culture and good coaches around us.

We probably help each other even if it is not so conscious, Sagström continues.

"Will never stop being impressed"

One who makes her first major competition in 14 years is Annika Sörenstam.

An inspiration for Sagström.

- I'm very impressed by her.

I've been able to follow her behind the scenes for the past year and it's cool to see her journey.

It is difficult to get back and compete at the highest level after twelve years without competitive golf.

I will never stop being impressed by her, it will be fun to see what she does this week.

The US Open is played between 2 and 5 June.
