Karjakin is the owner of the FIDE World Cup 2015, World Rapid Champion (2012), World Blitz Champion (2016), and two-time winner of the world team championship.

In March, the FIDE ethics commission suspended Karjakin from competitions under its auspices for two years after he supported a special operation in Ukraine.

Earlier, Karjakin said that the European Chess Union was negative towards Russia.
