Iga Swiatek reaches for the title in Paris.

The 21-year-old Pole is in the final of the French Open for the second time after a 6-2, 6-1 win in just 64 minutes against Russian Darya Kassatkina.

Her opponent on Saturday is the 18-year-old US-American Coco Gauff, who just as smoothly won in two sets (6:3, 6:1) against the unseeded Italian Martina Trevisan in the second semi-final.

Gauff acted with strong nerves and impressed with her powerful game.

She is the youngest participant in a Grand Slam final since Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon in 2004.

"It's a pretty special and emotional moment for me," said Swiatek: "I love playing here and I'm grateful to be able to play the final again." She continued her impressive winning streak in the semifinals and only had at the beginning a few problems with her opponent.

After an early break to make it 2-0, the Pole had to give up her service herself.

Kassatkina equalized to make it 2-2, but then Swiatek raised their level to another level and played six games in a row.

After 38 minutes she got the first set.

In the second section, too, the number one in the tennis world dominated at will and used the first match ball with an ace.

On April 4, Swiatek became the first Pole ever to take the top position in women's tennis.

The 2020 tournament winner has now won 34 matches in a row.

Only Venus Williams has had a one-match longer streak since the beginning of the 21st century, which ended in 2000 at the tournament in Linz after 35 games.

In the men's world, world number one Novak Djokovic holds the record for 43 games in a row from 2010 to 2011.

"I try to approach every match the same way, no matter how important it is," said Swiatek: "I focus on my tasks." The world number one will be the favorite in the final in Paris given her current condition.

Last year, the Czech Barbora Krejcikova won the French Open.
