Liverpool and Mohamed Salah have yet to reach an agreement on a potential contract renewal, which means the Egypt international could leave the Reds on a free transfer next summer.

Salah's contract runs until the summer of 2023, but the two parties did not succeed in reaching an agreement, despite the start of negotiations on the extension several months ago.

And according to The Athletic, Salah is keen to stay in the Premier League even if he does not renew his contract with the Reds before next summer.

The "Reds" did not speak with Salah about renewing his contract 6 months ago, and the last offer made to him was an increase in his salary (he earns 250 thousand dollars per week) by 15%, and this is far from what Salah asks.

And if Salah decides to stay in England, there will be a lot of teams that woo the Egyptian star.

A "dream" of Salah moving to Newcastle

One of the teams that could enter into negotiations with the captain of the Egyptian national team early next year, that is, when he is free to negotiate, is the Newcastle team, which became owned by a "consortium" and led by Saudi Arabia last year, which spent the money to strengthen its team in the winter Mercato.

Salah came close to joining "McPeace" in 2011, when he was a player in the "Arab Contractors" team.

Salah revealed - at the time - that Newcastle was preparing an offer to sign him for one season.

Salah told Al-Ahram - at the time - that Newcastle "will soon submit an official offer to sign me for one season."

"I don't think the contractors will refuse to let me play in the Premier League. It is a dream for any player to play in one of the strongest tournaments in the world. I want to play abroad, I think this will be my next step."

However, Salah did not join Newcastle.

Instead, he moved to Basel in 2012 and two years later signed with Chelsea.

There, he did not succeed in establishing himself, and then moved to Rome on a permanent deal in 2016.

After shining in Rome, Salah joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017, winning the English Premier League and the European Champions League with him and led the team to 3 finals in the Champions League.

And now, more than a decade later, there is a chance that Salah will finally end up at St James' Park.
