The last time a Swede won the classic was in 1999 when Kenny Bräck won.

Since then, no Swede has come close to winning the Indy 500.

But Marcus Ericsson's achievement was anything but undramatic.

A late restart, after a crash, created drama when Pato O'Ward challenged Sven Light.

- The final laps were super exciting.

With six laps left, it looked like he would roll into the finish line as the winner, but with three laps left, we got a red flag.

Being in the lead at the restart, with three laps left, is not easy, says Robert Dahlgren and develops:

- You are in the lead, you have to break the air first of all, you have a lot of chasing cars ... the way he finishes is absolutely world class, he is a worthy winner.

How big is this?

- Many know what Kenny Bräck did in 1999 when he won the Indy 500, it was a fantastic achievement.

What Marcus did now ... we have F1 drivers who have come over and drive Indycar, the sport has become even bigger, the starting field has become stronger over the years.

- It is absolutely world class.

It is one of the three largest motorsport competitions in the world, and it has now been won by a Swede.
