China News Service, Xiamen, May 29th (Yang Fushan Huaxun) As the Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, the 2022 Huaqiao University "Huada Cup" Dragon Boat Challenge will be held on May 29th at Huada Xiamen Campus, with nearly 200 participants from 12 colleges. Famous students at home and abroad compete in dragon boats and experience Chinese dragon boat culture.

  On the same day, Wan Anlun, vice president of Huaqiao University, put the finishing touches on the dragon boat and kicked off the competition.

Immediately, the participating students at home and abroad waved their oars and chopped the waves with an order.

  Peng Wenjing from Angola is a member of the dragon boat team of the BGI School of Civil Engineering. This is her second time participating in the school dragon boat competition.

Nearly 200 domestic and foreign students from 12 colleges of BGI participated in the dragon boat race.

  "Participating in the dragon boat race allowed me to meet like-minded friends. Through two personal experiences, I have a deeper understanding of China's dragon boat culture." Peng Wenjing likes sports, water, and the charming traditional Chinese culture.

  "I haven't experienced dragon boating in Taiwan before, and I only came into contact with the mainland. Although dragon boating is very tiring, I am very happy to be able to unite with my classmates and help each other in the same boat." Luo Zhaoyun, a student from the School of Journalism and Communication of Huada University from Taiwan, hopes to bring Such an event rich in traditional Chinese culture is introduced to more Taiwanese friends, allowing more people to participate.

  BGI has the only "Cultural China · Chinese Talent (Dragon Boat) Training Base" set up by the China Overseas Exchange Association. It is committed to promoting dragon boat sports, spreading dragon boat culture, and promoting the spirit of dragon boat. It has won the second Cultural China Global Chinese Talents. (Dragon Boat) champion, fourth place in the 4th World University Dragon Boat Championships, and also represented China in Penang, Malaysia to participate in international dragon boat events.

  In recent years, BGI has trained hundreds of dragon boat instructors for dozens of countries overseas, and through the carrier of dragon boat, the excellent traditional Chinese culture has been spread to all corners of the world.

The school's professional dragon boat training hall has started construction, and will become the first dragon boat hall in a Chinese university after completion.
