Peter Menning was first in the finish on the K1 200 meters in Poznan, eight hundredths ahead of Lithuania's Arturas Seja and another 33 hundredths ahead of Kevin Santos.

It was a tough battle from start to finish, but in the end the Swede was the fastest of them all.

His first World Cup victory of the season.

Swedish compatriot Theodor Orban finished second last in the final, in eighth place, almost two seconds behind Menning.

"Being an adult canoeist is just as fun as when I was a child," Menning writes on Instagram.

This was just the second World Cup weekend for the canoeists.
