For the moment, the 2022 edition of Roland-Garros is going rather well for Irina-Camelia Begu.

The Romanian won her two matches played on Thursday, one in doubles with Camila Osorio (6-3, 7-5), the other in singles against Ekaterina Aleksandrova (6-7, 6-3, 6-4).

But she had a narrow escape in the third set of her match against the Russian.

As she counted a late break, the Romanian, annoyed, threw her racquet on the ground, which bounced to land in the stands.

She then almost injured a child.

The supervisor intervened, but no disqualification was pronounced.

The match was able to continue, and Begu got rid of the No. 30 seed.

🎾 After throwing her racket on the ground, Irina-Camelia Begu touched a child in the audience... Fortunately, more fear than harm, the player was able to take a photo with the child at the end of the match.

She will therefore face the French revelation LĂ©olia Jeanjean in the 3rd round on Saturday.

Before that, she will be opposed to the pair formed by Kristina Mladenovic and Caroline Garcia this Friday in doubles.

In advance, if she could keep her racquet in her hand, that would be nice.
