Choosing Sharjah as the capital of Arab sports culture

The Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers officially approved the Emirate of Sharjah as the capital of Arab sports culture.

The Council urged Arab countries to participate in the programs and activities that will be held in July and November of this year under the slogan "Our culture brings us together." 

The Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers had adopted the recommendation of the Sports Technical Committee supporting the Council to adopt the idea of ​​the Arab Sports Culture Federation, and to choose an Arab city each year to be the capital of Arab sports culture, with the aim of enabling Arab cities to play their role in achieving sustainable development through sports and culture.

The award is given to an Arab city that cares about its cultural heritage, its geographical potential, its cultural heritage, and its preservation of the Arab identity. 

The Sharjah delegation participated in the meetings, and Issa Hilal, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, thanked the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Assistant Secretary-General Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Head of the Executive Office, and the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports.
