118 ships in the "Al Gaffal 31" race next June

The Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club expressed its thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, for sponsoring and supporting the 31st edition of the Al Gaffal 60-foot Race for Local Dhows, which will be held during the period from 3- Next June 5, it will start from Sir Bu Nair Island to the shores of Dubai.


Registration is closed today to participate in the race, as the number of ships that have confirmed their participation in the event has reached 118 ships, which will sail for a distance of more than 50 nautical miles.

This came during the monthly meeting of the club’s board of directors, which was held under the chairmanship of Ahmed bin Meshar and Saif Al-Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the Board, and members Ibrahim Al-Haddad, Rashid Al-Muhairi, Jamal bin Krishan, Issa Nasser and Khaled Al-Balushi, in the presence of Mohammed Al-Falahi, Executive Director of the club.

The organizing committee announced the continuation of the registration of seafarers and the completion of the lists of participants for all ships until next Thursday, through the electronic portal of the event, which was recently launched.
