French striker Olivier Giroud, crowned Italian champion with AC Milan, gave an exclusive interview to "Europe 1 Sport".

He looks back on his return to the France team last March, a few days after a first interview given to Europe 1. He also talks about his ambitions in Blues and the soap opera Kylian Mbappé.

Recent winner of the Italian championship this season with AC Milan, Olivier Giroud is not on Didier Deschamps' list for the matches of the French football team next June.

The second top scorer in Les Bleus history could be resigned, but the 35-year-old French striker has not said his last word.

In an exclusive interview granted to Europe 1 this week, Olivier Giroud does not close the door to the selection.

"Why would I have changed my mind in a few weeks? I am at the disposal of the France team, and we will see what the future holds", he says on our antenna.

A declaration which echoes that which the player had made last March on Europe 1, a few days before being finally recalled by the coach due to Karim Benzema's package.

"In a way, you brought me luck, even if I'm not superstitious", jokes the one who is only three goals away from Thierry Henry's record in Blues.

"It was cool to come back, and to be able to get closer to this record," admits the former Montpellier player, who then scored two goals for his return to the tricolor jersey.

Mbappé at PSG: "It's good for France"

If Karim Benzema is one of his main competitors, statistically, his most dangerous opponent in the France team is called Kylian Mbappé.

The two men had a bittersweet exchange before Euro 2020, but everything has since settled down.

Olivier Giroud has also followed like everyone else the soap opera Mbappé and his renewed commitment with Paris Saint-Germain.

He respects the choice of the Parisian star: "It's good for France, it's good for Ligue 1 and for PSG, he is happy in Paris and I hope for him that he will keep the same level. "

After a few days of vacation, Olivier Giroud will resume the collar with the objective, always, of being part of the next list of Didier Deschamps in mid-September, two months before the World Cup in Qatar.
