It was on Monday that world number two Krejcikova was surprisingly knocked out by home player Diane Parry with 6-1.2-6.3-6.

The Czech left the arena in tears after the shocking loss.

This was only the third time a reigning champion went straight out in the French Open women's singles.

Then she started to feel bad.

"Last night (Tuesday) I started to feel bad and this morning I woke up with a fever.

I decided to take a covid-19 test and it turned out to be positive ", writes Krejcicova on Instagram.

Second positive test from a Czech player

This meant that she had to jump off the double where she did not even have time to play with Katerina Siniakova, who she won with last year.

The pair were top seeded and would enter the tournament today.

This is the second positive covid test in Paris.

Czech teammate Marie Bouzkova withdrew from the tournament after her first singles match, which she won against Russian Anastasia Gasanova 6-2.6-1.

She then had to leave the walkover against the Belgian Elise Mertens in the second round.
