The British government has announced that it has approved the sale of Chelsea, the English Premier League football team.

Abramovich announced in March that he would sell Chelsea, which is owned by Russian oligarch Abramovich, who is said to be close to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Abramovich was subsequently subject to economic sanctions, including the freezing of assets associated with Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, but Chelsea was specifically authorized for some activities, including conducting matches.

According to British media and others, the Premier League has already approved the acquisition of Todd Borley, co-owner of the Dodgers of the American Major League Baseball, for a total of £ 4.25 billion, about 67.7 billion yen in Japanese yen. It was only leaving the approval of the British government.

As Abramovich is subject to sanctions, the profits from the sale are expected to be donated to charity.
