An eventful match between Varberg and Degerfors came to a dramatic end.

With 1-1 on the scoreboard and one man less on the field, Varberg got a good free kick position.

Then Albin Winbo stepped forward with a well-placed finish that shot all three points to the home team.

Above goal scorer

Before that, Varberg's outer midfielder Gideon Mensah had scored an unlikely goal.

Mensah has had a difficult time behind him with a serious knee injury that kept him away for a long time.

But against Degerfors, the 21-year-old struck with his first professional goal.

From a difficult angle far to the right of the penalty area, he managed to - a shot that surprised the Degerfors goalkeeper and went all the way into goal.

- I have waited a long time to score a goal.

It's special.

This goal is for the fans and everyone who helped me here in Varberg, Mensah says to Discovery +.

An emotional Mensah thanked for the support he received through the injury period.

- I want to thank my friends, the medical team and my family here in Sweden who have helped me.

Expulsion

The goal gave Varberg the lead in the first half but in the second Degerfors was invited back into the match.

Tashreeq Matthews received a red card after stopping Diego Campos' free-kick.

And of course it was the same Campos who equalized, with a well-balanced finish just minutes later.

Campos signs for Degerfors

But there were no points for Degerfors, who let in 2-1 in extra time.

But all the more pleasant for Varberg, who takes three important points after five games without a victory.
