The UAE delegation raised its medal count to 20 colored medals as part of its participation in the third Gulf Games hosted by Kuwait until the 31st of this month, with the participation of more than 1,700 athletes from the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and the UAE is participating in it with 285 male and female athletes participating in 16 different individual and team games within 111 competitions are held in 12 locations, and the delegation is accompanied by 39 trainers, 24 administrators, and 12 specialists and therapists. 


 The bikes gave the fourth gold medal to the UAE in the session, after our national team, consisting of Youssef Mirza, Ahmed Al-Mansoori, Jaber Al-Mansoori, Saif Al-Kaabi, won first place in the men's team time trial for 42 km, with a time of 49:42.23 minutes, which was held on Sheikh Jaber Ahmed Al-Sabah Bridge, where Kuwait came in second with a time of 50:29.38 minutes, while Bahrain took the bronze in third place with a time of 50:50.34 minutes.


 Saif bin Fetais won the UAE's fifth gold medal in the skeet competition with 39 points, after qualifying among the best 4 shooters to the final stage, and tied with his Kuwaiti competitor, Mansour Al-Rashidi, with the same result, before deciding the gold medal with the "clinching shot" and breaking the tie. With a score of 29 bowls, our national shooting team player, Obaid bin Dhaoui, ranked 17th in the skeet competition with 107 dishes out of 150.


 The national swimming team won the evening races yesterday, Thursday, the bronze medal through Salem Ghaleb in the 200-meter medley race with a time of 2.11.32 minutes, while the Qataris Abdul Aziz Al-Obaidli and Omar Abu Al-Ela won the gold and silver medals for the competition in 2:08.83 and 2:09.20, respectively. Omar Al Hammadi, swimmer of our national team, added the bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:09.69 minutes, while Kuwaiti Rashid Al-Tarmoum won the gold with a time of 1:02.81 minutes, and Qatar's Muhammad Mahmoud won the silver medal with a time of 1:05.48 minutes.


 Thus, the balance of the UAE rose to 20 colored medals, 5 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals, in sixth place in the general ranking table. With a total of 43 medals, including 17 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze medals, Qatar ranked third with a total of 35 medals, including 11 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze, followed by the Sultanate of Oman in fourth place with a total of 24 medals, including 11 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze medals. Saudi Arabia ranked fifth with a total of 32 medals, including 7 gold, 9 silver, and 16 bronze.

Futsal


The UAE national team lost to its Saudi counterpart 2-1 in the women's futsal competition, which was held in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah Complex as part of the third Gulf Games hosted by Kuwait, to conclude the "Women's White" group stage in fourth place after a tie with Kuwait 1-1 and lost to Bahrain by four goals to one.

The UAE team will meet with its Bahraini counterpart, who finished first in the semi-finals, while the Saudi team, which came in second place, will play with the Kuwait team, which ranked third, in the second half of the semi-finals as well.


The Saudi women's futsal team raised a sign of condolences on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, "may God have mercy on him," before the match began, in solidarity with our delegation in the great loss.
