Füllkrug celebrated Bremen's promotion to the Bundesliga after the 2-0 win against Jahn Regensburg on Sunday afternoon with the fans in the east curve of the Weser Stadium, holding burning pyrotechnics in his hand.

Full pitcher denies the incident in an interview

"It was incredibly nice to share the emotions with the fans," said Füllkrug later in an interview with ARD.

A journalist then replied: "I saw pictures with pyrotechnics in hand." Füllkrug claimed: "Nah, that wasn't me."

The pictures show something different.

With 19 goals this season in the second Bundesliga, Füllkrug played a significant part in Bremen's success this season.

Above all, the so-called ultras among the spectators regard the ignition of pyrotechnics in the stadiums as "part of the fan culture".

The DFB recently imposed fines of several tens of thousands of euros on various clubs for burning off pyrotechnics.
