The agreement is designed for three years, according to the press service of the NHL.

In early May 2022, Askarov signed a trial contract until the end of the season with the Nashville farm club, the Milwaukee Admirals.

In the 2021/22 season, Askarov played six games for SKA in the regular season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
