The Swedish team Chelsea became last week's champions in the Women's Super League, after great drama.

The team turned 1-2 against Manchester United in the second half to win 4-2 and thus took home the team's third straight league title.

Today it was time to play for a new title, at the FA Cup final at Wembley, against Manchester City in a match that attracted 49,094 spectators - a new record for the tournament.

Kerr nodded in a goal

And even now, Chelsea (with Magdalena Eriksson from the start) had to celebrate a victory, after an exciting match.

Chelsea, who led the game for most of the first half and also started the second half best, looked long to go towards a 2-1 victory after a header by Sam Kerr and a 2-1 goal by Erin Cuthbert who sat the ball via the bar.

Andersson played the extra time

But with only one minute left of regular playing time, substitute Hayley Raso received a long ball, kept Magdalena Eriksson away and put the equalizer in goal.

Before the extension, Jonna Andersson was replaced, and had to make one last effort in the Chelsea shirt before she now has to leave for Hammarby.

Kennedy scapegoat

And after only nine minutes on the field, she had to celebrate 3-2.

Her teammate in the back line, Millie Bright, hit a long ball along the right wing, which City's Alanna Kennedy completely missed when she was about to hit away.

That gave Chelsea a two-on-one position.

Sam Kerr went on the finish line herself, and her shot was guided via City defender Alex Greenwood into goal.

Most of the second overtime quarter, City tried to push for an equalizer, but they did not succeed.

Thus, Chelsea can celebrate an FA Cup title for the second year in a row.

Chelsea also won several titles in 2020, but then it was about the league and the league cup.

The last two Swedes in the two final teams, Chelsea's Zecira Musovic and Manchester City's Filippa Angeldahl, had to spend the entire match on the bench.
