The end of the season saw the VAFC and Niort oppose the René-Gaillard stadium.

VAFC won their match 2-1. The Valenciennes team played in 3-4-2-1, with Bonnet leading, a system chosen by Delmotte, while Desabre opted for a balanced 4-2-3-1 with Bentil leading.

Niort opened the scoring in the 29th through Bentil.

Then, Bonnet managed to deceive the goalkeeper, scoring the second goal of the game.

The teams returned to the locker room at half-time with a score of 1-1.

Kalai scored the game's last goal in the 74th minute, in favor of VAFC.

This match went off without tension.

  The VAFC therefore ends this Ligue 1 season in 16th position, and Niort in position.
