Liverpool FC have won the English FA Cup for the first time in 15 years.

Coach Jürgen Klopp's team won the cup final against Thomas Tuchel's FC Chelsea on penalties after 120 goalless minutes 6-5.

Liverpool keeper Alisson saved a shot from Mason Mount before Konstantinos Tsimikas converted the Reds' decisive penalty.

Before the eyes of Prince William and around 85,000 spectators at Wembley Stadium, no goals were scored in regular time and extra time.

Chelsea's César Azpilicueta hit the post on penalties.

At the other end, Liverpool's Sadio Mané shot the ball straight into the arms of fellow Senegalese Edouard Mendy.

Liverpool, who had to do without top scorer Mohamed Salah after around half an hour due to injury, thus preserve the historic chance of four trophies in one season.

The Klopp club are in the Champions League final and are in second place, three points behind leaders Manchester City, with two games to go before the end of the Premier League season.

It's the first time Klopp has won the competition with his side.

The 54-year-old is also the first German coach to do that in England.

Liverpool had previously won the League Cup this season after beating Tuchel's Chelsea (11-10) on penalties.
