After Wolfsburg, who on Sunday became league champions with one round left, played the cup final against Potsdam on 28 May, it is the holiday - or the European Football Championship in England in July - that awaits the Swedish national team striker Rebecka Blomqvist.

But there is a cloud of concern regarding the European Championship selection.

Blomqvist has missed the last three matches for Wolfsburg with an ankle injury.

And even though rehabilitation has so far gone "very well" according to Blomqvist, it may play a role in terms of selection for the championship.

It is uncertain how many more matches she will be able to play in Germany this season.

There, Blomqvist has a dialogue with the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson.

"He knows the status"

- He knows the status and so on.

It is a dream to be part of a European Championship.

It is clear that it is sad that I can not participate and perform in matches, I understand that it is important for me to get a place.

I hope that I can get in good shape now the last few weeks so that I am ready when it comes to if it should be so, she says.

As for the injury, things are going in the right direction, she says.

But it is uncertain whether she will be playable in the last league match.

- We take it a little day by day down here, it's not quite clear yet.

But I hope I am fit for fight to the cup final in three weeks instead, she says.

Blomqvist has been part of the Swedish national team since 2019. She has played 12 matches in the blue and yellow jersey and scored two goals, most recently in the match against Georgia.

In Wolfsburg, Blomqvist has played 15 matches this season and accounted for four goals and three assists.
