The European Football Championship 2024 starts in Munich.

On Tuesday, the Executive Committee of the European Football Union (UEFA) in Vienna chose the Allianz Arena as the venue for the opening game on June 14, 2024. The next European champions will be crowned exactly one month later in Berlin.

The final draw is scheduled to take place in December 2023 at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

The international media center will have its place in Leipzig.

The German national team has already qualified for the finals as hosts.

The qualifying groups will be drawn in October in Frankfurt.

A total of four group games, a round of 16 and the first semi-final will be played in the 70,000-seat arena of FC Bayern Munich.

The Main metropolis Frankfurt receives four group games plus an additional round of 16 on July 1st.

Other venues besides Munich and Berlin are Hamburg, Cologne, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Düsseldorf, Leipzig and Stuttgart.

The DFB was awarded the tournament in September 2018.

The opponent in the decision in Nyon was Turkey.

At the last pan-European finals in summer 2021, Munich hosted three preliminary round games and one quarter-final.

The Bavarian capital is also hosting the 2025 Champions League final.

At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the then newly built Munich Arena was awarded the contract for the start, and the final took place in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
