The young Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz won his second Masters 1000 in Madrid, after having dismissed big names such as his idol, Rafael Nadal, or the world number one Novak Djokovic.

His performances and assertive game make him one of the players to watch closely during the Roland-Garros tournament.

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev: this impressive list of hunting is to be put on the account of Carlos Alcaraz.

The 19-year-old Spanish phenomenon has once again amazed the tennis world by winning his second Masters 1000 title in Madrid, in his country, after a dream career.

The young tennis player first dismissed his idol, Rafael Nadal, in the quarter-finals on Friday (6-2, 1-6, 6-3) before repeating the same feat the next day against world number one Novak Djokovic, in three sets (6-7, 7-5, 7-6).

Carlos Alcaraz is now considered by some to be one of the favorites at Roland-Garros, especially after his demonstration in the final against the German Alexander Zverev (6-3, 6-1).

, always a fan of puns, was not mistaken in headlining Monday morning "Alcaraz tide".

The kid from El Palmar, near Valencia, has actually won everything in his path for a few weeks.

He now has five titles to his credit, including two Masters 1000 after his success in Miami in early April and that on clay in Madrid on Sunday.

The youngest to total so many victories since … Nadal

'Carlitos' Alcaraz, as the Spanish media dubs him, is the youngest player to reach that total since a certain Rafael Nadal in 2005. "I consider myself a player who is playing very well at the moment. I think I I'm a tough opponent for other players," he said modestly, as Alexander Zverev called him "the best player in the world" on Sunday after the Madrid final.

Ranked 120th in the world a year ago, here is Alcaraz knocking on the doors of the top 5, in 6th place on Monday.

Suffice to say that in two weeks, when the Roland-Garros tournament begins, all eyes will be on him.
