World champion Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 debut on the new race track in Miami under the Florida sun and in the eyes of many celebrities.

After a tough duel, he was able to leave opponent Charles Leclerc behind and record his third win of the season.

The international press writes about this:

Great Britain:

The Sun:

"Building a fresh track around the Miami Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium and an enviable guest list (...) doesn't necessarily make for a good race.

Sadly, it has always been difficult for Formula 1 to live up to so much hype and Sunday's Grand Prix failed to generate the excitement that the other 'new' circuit, the Saudi Grand Prix, a few weeks ago did."

The Guardian:

“The tequila flowed freely in Miami this weekend as Formula 1 scrambled to throw the party it wanted to celebrate its inaugural race here.

When the checkered flag flew, it was clear to Max Verstappen that he and his Red Bull team deserved a drink too after beating Ferrari's Charles Leclerc into second place."

Netherlands:

"AD.nl":

"Max Verstappen, more American than the Americans.

With a football helmet on his head, he celebrated on the podium as if he weren't the Formula 1 world champion, but a quarterback from Limburg.

Of course America overdid it terribly, Verstappen happily joined in after a wonderful win.”

"De Telegraaf":

"Master of concentration.

Max Verstappen stays cool even in American madness.”

Italy:

"Corriere della Sera":

"In the F1 Superbowl, victory goes to Max Verstappen.

Ferrari comes from a double win in qualifying to a double podium.”

La Repubblica:

Verstappen is ruining Ferrari's ambitions.

Leclerc's incredibly tough attitude is not enough to withstand Verstappen.

Two champions of the highest profile are enlivening a season that could become unforgettable.”

Spain:

"Marca":

"In Miami, he (Max Verstappen) achieved a solid victory over Charles Leclerc by taking the only chance he had - a degradation in the tires of the Ferrari."

"El País":

"Formula 1 experienced a weekend full of former athletes, musicians, actresses.

(...) The first race won, with a lot of luck for Red Bull Max Verstappen over Charles Leclerc, who is starting to slow down.

"As":

"Verstappen eats up both Ferraris on the race track.

No matter what the World Cup standings say, Mad Max was in charge in Miami.

Schumacher and Vettel crash, the fault lies more with the younger one.”

France:

"Le Figaro":

"Max Verstappen is in charge in Miami.

The reigning world champion won the first Grand Prix in Florida and relegated the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to places.

The Dutchman sends a message and celebrates his third win in five races.”

Switzerland:

"Blick":

"The rain stays away, the spectacle largely too."

"Tages-Anzeiger":

"The world champion is tugging in Miami after the third win of the season on Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc's nerves."

Austria:

Kronen Zeitung:

“The Miami International Autodrome made its debut on the racing calendar in 2022.

The hype about the race, which was tailored entirely to American enthusiasm, was accordingly.”
