At the beginning of 2022, Jens Gustafsson became the new national team captain for the Swedish U21 national team.

His stay is already over.

On Monday, the Swedish Football Association announces that Gustafsson will be bought out of his contract, which Sportbladet was the first to report on.

He has signed for the Polish top club Pogon Szcecin.

- It is obviously sad to lose a good leader and coach, but that is the way it is in the football world.

People are moving and it's just accepting, says Claes Eriksson, head of the U21 national team, in a press release.

Gustafsson has previously coached AIK, IFK Norrköping and Hajduk Split.

The 43-year-old managed to make a match with the U21 national team, the 0-2 loss against Ireland in March.
