Fifa's decision to award the Qatar World Cup 2022 has received sharp criticism for a long time.

Among other things, the chairman of the Norwegian Football Association, Lisa Klaveness, gave a fiery speech on the issue earlier this year.

- In 2010, the World Cup was handed out by Fifa in unacceptable ways with unacceptable consequences.

Human rights, equality, democracy, the core interests of football were not in the starting eleven until many years later.

Football is for everyone, for boys and girls of different colors, for straight and gay people.

It is crucial that football leaders continue to go from politics to actual action, she said at a Fifa congress in Doha.

"No good country to be in"

The Swedish national team failed to secure a ticket to the championship with the loss to Poland in the playoffs.

The national team's national team captain Janne Andersson has not yet taken a position on whether he will travel there for work or whether he will boycott the tournament.

- I have not thought about that question yet, I must admit.

It is too far ahead for me as it looks now, he says.

What do you include in your thoughts about for or against?

- Of course it is possible to see opposing teams in place, which is great.

- Against is everything we talked about before about Qatar, ie a wrong decision to put a championship there in every way based on migrant workers, women's opportunities, homosexuals and so on.

It's not a good country to be in.

Could it be a symbolism if you refrained from traveling there?

- That could very well be the case.

That's probably my first thought, then we'll see.
