Ridefelt went out on the final stretch with a two minute and 48 second lead to OK Ravinen's finisher Gustav Bergman.

The experienced Bergman chased hard and approached, but despite picking him up just over a minute, he did not manage to seriously threaten the victory.

- It was very stressful to have Gustav hunting.

I knew he had a minute to pick on me and he's the best in the world at this.

It is clear that I was nervous that he would catch up, but I focused on mine and did a very good race, says Albin Ridefelt to svenskorientering.se.

Ravinen second, IFK Gothenburg third

Still, it was only when Ridefelt ran up to the final check and heard the cheers that he felt it would be a victory.

- Difficult to describe the feeling.

Such joy but also relief.

We have worked hard for this.

This year we have consciously focused on the relay mentality.

Mats Troeng and several of the experienced guys have done a great job for us to run as a team.

That was enough for us this time, he says.

OK Ravinen was second, 46 seconds behind Linnaeus.

IFK Gothenburg was looking for its fourth straight victory, but had to settle for a third place.

It is noteworthy that it was OK Linnaeus' first Tiomila victory, but two of the clubs that later became OK Linnaeus have won: OK Fyrismalm 1950 and IK Fyris 1971.
