The meeting at the Allianz Stadium in Turin could have ended in important points for Sassuolo, in the hunt for third place in the table.

But league-leading Juventus, who have been completely dominant during the season, instead made sure to get their hands on the championship title once again.

It took half an hour for the table to take the lead.

Barbara Bonansea steered in behind the leading goalkeeper Diede Lemey and six minutes later it became a goal again, through Cristiana Girelli.

2-0 to Juventus and it looked like the league gold had been salvaged.

Rapid reduction

Sassuolo, however, would get into the match.

Shortly after the half-time break, Michaela Cambiaghi managed to get past the Swedish national team defender Linda Sembrant on the right side, into the box, and scored 2-1 behind Pauline Peyraud-Magnin.

But an odd goal lead Lisa Boattin would not settle for.

The 3-1 goal by the defender touched Lemey, but still went in and with about 25 minutes left of the match, Juventus had decided - and taken their 18th victory of the season.

Linda Sembrant was with from the start, while national team colleague Amanda Nildén started on the bench and was replaced after 75 minutes.

Lina Hurtig, who was previously missing from the squad due to covid-19, was not selected either.

There is one round left in the league.
