A year after being relegated from the Bundesliga, Schalke 04 is back in the top flight.
One game day before the end of the season, the Gelsenkirchen team defeated FC St. Pauli 3:2 after being down 0:2.
This means that they can no longer be pushed out of first place.
After Matanovic's goals (9th and 17th minute), Schalke striker Terodde (47th, penalty kick and 71st) equalized.
Zalazar scored the winning goal (78th).
St. Pauli's Beifus saw the red card (81') after a serious foul, Matanovic received a yellow card (90'+5') Hamburger SV, Darmstadt 98, Werder Bremen and St. Pauli were playing for second place.
A club is relegated against the third from bottom in the Bundesliga table.
