No country other than Sweden has more players in the women's Swedish team than Finland.

Since 2017, the number of Finnish players has only increased and today more than half of the national team players play in Sweden.

In total, there are 22 Finnish women on 9 of the series' 14 teams.

- I think it's sick but I understand it.

The league is so much better than in Finland and this is the first step when you go abroad.

If you can manage and be in the starting eleven, there are many different doors that open because you are good here, says AIK's Jenny Danielsson.

The Finnish league is quite far behind the Swedish, not least in terms of tempo, but the damallsvenskan gives a boost to Finnish football, the players say.

- Damallsvenskan actually means a lot to Finland.

Look at Eveliina Summanen.

She played here for three years (in Kif Örebro and Kristianstad) and did really well and developed a lot.

Now she's at Tottenham.

Many of the Swedish players are in even better leagues.

We must take that step with Finland as well, says Kaisa Collin.

Will Damallsvenskan help you get closer to Sweden?

- Yes, for sure.

I have not played with so many who play in the Swedish national team but still some.

But take for example Ria Öling who plays in Rosengård ... If you play and train with Swedish national team players, you will of course learn something and be part of their pace.

Jenny Danielsson also believes that damallsvenskan will have an effect on Finnish football in the long run.

- The Finnish league is not so good.

When the older players who play in Sweden go home to Finland, they will give a lot to the young ones.

The experience gained and brought home to Finland will help a lot.
