The coincidence of four brothers from the Al-Balushi family led to the stardom of fencing, after advice from a sports teacher changed their direction from other sports to fencing in which they excelled.

The brothers, Al-Maha, Saleh, the twins Al-Hayam and Faris, practiced taekwondo and equestrian sports, but they turned to fencing, in a station that led them to stardom locally and internationally, and achieving important achievements, the latest of which was in the World Championships for Youth and Youth hosted by Dubai last April.

The mother of the four brothers, Manal Tabaa, told "Emirates Today": "Advise from the sports teacher at Al-Majd School, Muhammad Abdul Razzaq, led my sons to switch from different sports, such as taekwondo and equestrian, to enter the world of fencing in 2019, at a station that led them through their clubs, Sharjah Sports, which Saleh, Faris, and Fujairah are training with the Oryx and Al-Hiam to win local championships and enter the list of national teams, before they achieve achievements and raise the state flag in regional and international forums.

And she explained: "Fares, at the age of 11, started his fencing career, to join his brothers within two months, and the passion for sports and following me as a former jockey and basketball player pushed them to join their clubs, before their talent was discovered by the coach of the national team, Osama Adel, to whom he is credited with Developing the performance of my children and getting them to the position they have reached.”

She added: "The Youth and Junior World Cup in Dubai sheds light on the march of Saleh (16 years old), and the twins, Faris and Al-Hayam (14 years), in a tournament in which 1,600 players from 125 countries participated, during which Saleh and Al-Hayam succeeded in reaching the 64th round, and Al-Hayam won the 55th place globally in the under-17-year-olds category, Florett, and 58th globally in the under-17-year-olds category.

And she continued, "Al-Maha (17 years) was absent from competing in the (EP) weapon in the World Cup in Dubai, to enter the stage of recovery from the injury she suffered after winning the Asian bronze and obtaining a qualification number to participate in the Olympic Games, and Al-Hayam also succeeded before participating in the Olympic Games. World Cup Dubai, in gifting the country the bronze of the Asian Championship in Tashkent.
