Liverpool player Mohamed Salah said that he wants to face Real Madrid, not Manchester City, in the Champions League final, as the Egyptian striker seeks to avenge his team's defeat in the 2018 Continental Championship final against the Spanish team.

Salah left the field crying after a violent fall during a collision - it seemed intentional - with Sergio Ramos in the match that Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the European Championship final 4 years ago.

Liverpool won 3-2 yesterday, Tuesday, to win 5-2 on aggregate over Villarreal in the Champions League semi-final, and who will face in the final, scheduled for the 28th of this month, tonight when Man City is a guest of the Royal.

"I want to face Real Madrid," Salah told BTSPORT.

"Man City is a really tough team and we've played against them several times this season. If you ask me personally, I'd rather face Real Madrid."

In response to a question about whether he wanted revenge against the Spanish team, Salah said, "We lost in the final against them, so I want to play against them and hope to win against them as well."
