The Algerian star, Riyad Mahrez, called for the intervention of Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, in order to return the blue verification mark to his account on the global website.

Mahrez said - in a tweet he posted on his personal account on Monday - addressing the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, "My brother, Elon Musk, gave me the blue verification mark for my account again."

The Algerian national team star and captain's tweet received a wide interaction on Twitter, as it garnered more than 340,000 likes, and more than 25,000 retweets, in addition to thousands of funny comments on the Manchester City star's request.

Bro @elonmusk give me my blue tick back 😂😂😂

One of the activists commented, "This is very funny. I should have gone to check if it was the real Riyad Mahrez. How was it not verified?"

Among the funny comments written by the tweeters in response to the Algerian player’s request from Mask, one of them said: “How do we make sure that this is the real Mahrez.”

Another wrote, "I know someone on Twitter who will benefit you, talk to me privately and tell me your happiness."

In the same context, some of the tweeters demanded that Mask return the blue documentation mark to Mahrez, expressing their surprise at the cancellation of a famous player and followed by more than 3 million people around the world.

Twitter canceled the authentication of Mahrez's account for no apparent reason, while some news sites and journalists reported that the cancellation of the authentication came after a tweet about the demand for a rematch of the Algerian national team against Cameroon.

Mahrez re-published a tweet to a website interested in the news of the Algerian national team, calling on fans not to place high hopes on the file that was submitted to the International Football Association (FIFA) to demand the replay of the Cameroon match, due to irregularities in arbitration.

The blue mark returned to Mahrez's account to end the strange situation that the Algerian star faced during the past days.

This is hilarious.

Had to go check if it's the real Riyad Mahrez.
