Djokovic wins the same player 18 times unbeaten!

Serbian Novak Djokovic, ranked first in the world, continued his sway over his French opponent, Gael Monfils, and easily defeated him 6-3 6-2 in the second round of the Masters tennis tournament in Madrid, 1,000 points on Tuesday.

It was the 18th match between the two players, and Djokovic decided it all in his favour, and he will meet in the next round with veteran British Andy Murray or Canadian Denis Shapovalov.

The match stopped for nearly half an hour due to rain, when the result indicated a 2-2 tie in the first set, before it was completed and finished by the Serbian in an hour and 28 minutes.

The Serbian is still searching for his rhythm after his absence from the first section of the current year due to the repercussions of not participating in the Australian Open in January for not receiving the vaccine.

He was eliminated in the first round in the Monte Carlo tournament against Spain's Alejandro Davidovich in three sets, then reached the final of the Belgrade tournament on his home soil before losing in a similar scenario in the final to Russian Andrey Rublev, who won the decisive third set 6-0.

Djokovic admitted that he needed some time to regain his former form, saying, "I have to be patient. There is no doubt that the lack of matches has affected my ability to play at a certain level," noting that he is currently focusing on "fitness and endurance".
