The Egyptian Ismaili uses the “camel” to escape the downward spiral

Ismaily, the former champion, is still looking for a coach to save him from relegation in the Egyptian Premier League, as he made a new change and used his coach and former player, Hamza El-Gamal.

Al-Ismaili announced, in the early hours of Monday morning, the consensual separation from Hamad Ibrahim and the appointment of Al-Jamal, with Hosni Abd Rabbo, the former captain, taking over the task of football director.

Al-Gamal, the former Ismaili defender, told the club's website that this position "is considered a mandate, not an honor."

He added, "The team needs the efforts of its distinguished and loyal sons who are knowledgeable and able to extricate the team from its ordeal as soon as possible. I will not skimp on a drop of sweat for the return of my team, which I adore and I am always honored to belong to."

Al-Ismaili, the last team that won the league title away from Al-Ahly and Zamalek in 2002, started the season under the leadership of Talaat Youssef, but he left after the first two rounds due to statements he considered offensive by Yahya Al-Koumi, the club's president.

El-Gamal took charge temporarily in one match, then came Argentine Juan Brown, who left Ismaily last February and had three points from nine matches without achieving any victory.

Ismaily decided to use Hamad Ibrahim, who was working as an assistant to Ihab Jalal during his career, to save the team from relegation last season, and despite achieving two victories, he lost in the last two rounds to lose his position as well.

Ismaily occupies 16th place at the beginning of the relegation zone with 11 points from 16 matches, five points behind the safety zone, but it has one game postponed.

The competition consists of 34 rounds.

Ismaily has played regularly in the Egyptian League since the 1962-1963 season, when it was relegated only once, five years before it.
