The FIFA Disciplinary Committee of the International Football Association has fined the Senegalese Football Association for the events surrounding the World Cup qualifier between Senegal and Egypt.

In addition to laser pointers against the players, the fine amount of approximately 1.8 million Swedish kronor is also based on a plan invasion, an offensive banner and the fact that they generally did not manage to keep order inside the arena.

Senegal must also play the next competitive match in front of empty stands.

The Nigerian Federation received a similar punishment for the unrest surrounding their playoff match against Ghana.
