Ewood Park hosted the Blackburn Rovers club's stadium, the Eid al-Fitr prayer for Muslims in the British city, to be the first football club in England to open the doors of its stadium to perform this duty.

And the official account of the English club on Twitter published today, Monday, a video clip of the Eid prayer on the grounds of its stadium, and wrote on it, congratulating Muslims on this occasion, “Eid Mubarak from everyone in Blackburn Rovers.”

"Blackburn Rovers became this morning the first football club in the country to host the Eid prayer on the pitch," the club added.

"We are very grateful to Blackburn Rovers for opening their doors to pray on the pitch," a Muslim imam in Blackburn, who was present at the stadium for the Eid prayer, said in a press statement.

Athletes and activists interacted with the gesture shown by the Blackburn Club towards the Muslim community in Britain, praising the club's behavior and respect for multiculturalism and different religions.

"Well done Yasser Sofi for everything you do for our community," British Muslim cricketer Azeem Rafeeq wrote.

Yasser Sofi is the director of integration and development at Blackburn Rovers Club, and he was praised by a number of tweets after the distinguished gesture from the English team towards the Muslim community in Britain.
