Luleå were clear favorites to take home the first Swedish Championship final at home against Färjestad.

On the one hand, they had five straight home victories against FBK, and on the other hand, they could have rested at the same time as Färjestad played two tough semifinal matches against Rögle.

But no fatigue could be discerned on the part of the guests during the first two periods.

In fact, it was Färjestad who led the game at the same time as they kept a good eye on Luleå's acclaimed first chain with Linus Omark in the lead.

With two minutes left to play the first period, they also took the lead in a numerical disadvantage after Linus Johansson tore the puck in the middle zone and then handed it over to a rushing Per Åslund who could find the first cross behind Joel Lassinantti from a narrow angle .

But the joy was short-lived.

Just a minute and five seconds later, it was acknowledged after Konstantin Komarek hit a well-balanced pass into the castle that Jack Connolly was able to steer behind Dominik Furch Färjestads-kassen.

In the second period, the fight continued all over the ice, but no goals were scored and before the third period, there were probably many who expected that it could be a long afternoon in Coop Norrbotten Arena.

But Julius Honka and Einar Emanuelsson wanted something different.

First, Honka put 2-1 with a well-placed shot in the first cross behind Furch after 49 seconds and 54 seconds later, Emanuelsson scored the psychologically important 3-1 goal after a good individual performance.

The goal was the 25-year-old's only second this season, but no less important for that.

After that, Färjestad could not get up, even though Gustav Rydahl missed a great position in powerplay with just over six minutes left to play.
