Ullmark saved 37 shots and was named one of the match's best players.

Maybe the 28-year-old had the advantage of knowing the opponents well, as he played six seasons for Buffalo before he packed for moving to Boston last autumn.

- Of course there are a lot of emotions when you play against your old team, it means a little more special emotions, says Ullmark at the press conference.

First Boston zero

The move has been a boost for the former Modo goalkeeper, who has had to play more this season than he has done before in the NHL.

Tonight's match, however, was the first time he kept a clean sheet for Boston.

And the top form comes at the right time as Linus Ullmark looks to play in the NHL playoffs for the first time.

- I look forward to the playoffs, when the thought strikes me that I have the opportunity to fight for the trophy, he says.

He says on the one hand that the success of the league game is insignificant once you start playing the playoffs, but on the other hand:

- It's a bit tough to say that it does not mean anything, because it is clear that it does.

It builds a lot of confidence before the playoffs, you do not want to end the regular season with a losing streak.

Still in the shade

Despite the fine effort as a cage keeper, Ullmark still saw himself end up in the shadows this evening.

Team captain Patrice Bergeron passed 400 goals in his NHL career, and also did so via hat-trick in front of the home crowd.

Hampus Lindholm was noted for an assist to the final goal.

If it feels like there have been many hat tricks this year, it is a correct observation.

Bergeron's triple was the hundredth in the league this season.

Not many have happened since 1992-1993.

However, there is still a long way to go before the record season 1981–1982 when a total of 131 hat-tricks were produced in the league.
