The worst Barça of the season crashed with a bang in Munich.

Opposite they had a united and convinced Bayern, but the causes of a defeat in which they came to be seen up to 19 points away on the scoreboard must be sought in their very poor offensive performance.

Above all, in the triples: they were only able to score five in 29 attempts.

That, however, was not the only blur that ended up condemning them to play everything for everything in the fifth game.

Looking for the rival basket seemed time and again a titanic effort, and only the fact that Bayern did not have their best afternoon prevented the result from being even more lofty than the final 59-52.

[Narration and statistics: 59-52]

The team led by

Sarunas Jasikevicius

began to write their sentence with an already terribly erratic first half in attack.

Bayern, with an eminently choral game, was much more effective than the Catalans.

The fact that

Sanli

scored the first two points was just a mirage.

The Turk and

Mirotic

were among the best of the Barcelona team in a first quarter that ended with a 18-12 defeat and horrible sensations on the part of Jasikevicius.

A team that, precisely, had stood out for its scoring facet throughout the entire regular phase showed a mistake almost worthy of study, against a rival that, in fact, did not have to sweat ink either to fulfill its objective of forcing the fifth match.

The start of the second period also confirmed those bad omens predicted by the first ten minutes.

The azulgrana, terribly failing, with horrible statistics in the triples (they could only convert one of 11 shots in the entire first half) saw how Bayern was able to amass a maximum difference of 12 points behaving, simply, as a block with few fissures both in attack and, above all, in defense.

Barça's offensive errors, in the end, would end up sending the duel to rest with a more than advantageous 36-25 for a rival who went to the locker room convinced that they had the fifth game in the palm of their hand.

Debacle in the third quarter

A conviction that, in fact, went further after the break.

If Barça had already been a disaster in the first half of the duel, their third quarter was already directly horrific.

The azulgrana only scored nine points, thanks to an action

in extremis

by

Davies

, Bayern got to a 19-point advantage and did not make more blood because, in many moments, precipitation was able to do so.

The 50-34 from which Jasikevicius's men faced the last ten minutes weighed like a slab until the last moments.

As much as the Barcelona players cut the gap to just seven points, it was enough for the locals to calm down to win a 59-52 victory that will force everything to be decided on Tuesday at the Palau.

By then, it is better for the azulgrana to rediscover their best version if they don't want to say goodbye to the dream of the Euroleague even before reaching the Final Four.
