Today, he is still active in the Hangzhou boxing world, serving as the "technical director" of many boxing gyms, and many of his students are the backbone of Hangzhou boxers.
He had an indissoluble love affair with boxing and the Asian Games in his life.

For the sake of boxing, I became a referee and took the national first-level referee test. After I came back (from Beijing), I held a meeting in Zhejiang Province to teach and promote boxing referees.
I am a native of Hangzhou, so I set up a boxing association in Hangzhou, and I have done it through the sports committee.
We all went to the trials in Hangzhou, the trials in Zhejiang Province, and the trials in the whole country, and I was the judge.
In Hangzhou, I was an arbitrator, in Zhejiang Province I was the chief referee, and at the national level I was the head of the inspection team.
After the national competition is over, the Asian Games will be held, and we will be invited to the Asian Games, so I will be the chief inspector.
[Explanation] Xu Jingmao was a national first-class boxing referee when he was young, and he was also one of the first "veteran-level" figures engaged in boxing in Hangzhou.
He began to practice boxing at the age of 14 and once represented Zhejiang in boxing competitions at the National Games.
In March 1959, China canceled the boxing program, and his daily boxing activities also stopped.
In 1986, when boxing began to recover, Wang Guojun, then the head coach of the national boxing team, approached Xu Jingmao and invited him to Beijing to develop together.
Since then, Xu Jingmao, who loves boxing wholeheartedly, has embarked on the road of boxing referee.
After systematic training, he became a national first-level referee in 1989 and attended the Beijing Asian Games in 1990.

I also participated in the Asian Games. I participated in the 11th Asian Games in the Beijing Asian Games in 1990. The Asian Games are the honor and glory of our country. It's almost 50 years old.
(Chinese boxing at the time) We had just started and didn't have many days. We only started three or four years ago, but we also had zero breakthroughs, which shows that our Chinese sports are still good, and the 80kg Bai Chongguang also won the first place.

He successively built boxing gyms in Wushan Square and Qingchun Road in order to popularize boxing.

It was started little by little, and it was initially run by the public. What should I do? The sports committee discussed it with it. It was given to Gongchen Gymnasium, West Lake Gymnasium, and Shangcheng Gymnasium. I did this. I borrowed their venues to give them money, utilities Give them all, they also support us, and it is very cheap for me to collect money like this. At that time, it was only 5 yuan and 10 yuan a month. My purpose is not to make money. I don’t want to make this money myself, because I am doing I also don't want to make money, I just want to popularize (boxing) and make our Chinese people's physique a little better.
[Explanation] Now, Xu Jingmao is 81 years old, and he still sticks to his boxing gloves every day, and fights for a while every day.
His apprentice Gao Fei now also runs a boxing gym in Hangzhou, and sometimes invites his master over to gather and guide one or two. He became fascinated with boxing before the Beijing Asian Games, and was even more attracted by the spirit of boxing.
