Manchester United, with both Anthony Elanga and Victor Nilsson Lindelöf in the starting eleven, made no further match when Chelsea came to visit on Thursday night.

The guests had the most ball and created clearly the most of value and when Marcos Alonso made it 1-0 in the 60th minute, there were probably many who expected Chelsea to bring three points home to London.

But Cristiano Ronaldo wanted something different.

Two minutes later, he picked down a nice Nemanja Matic pass and sent in the equalizer with a rock-hard shot.

The goal was his 17th in the league this season and his eighth in his last six appearances.

With the result, third-placed Chelsea have six and eight points respectively down to chasing London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

Manchester United have five points up to fourth place, but have played two more matches (35) than the three teams closest above (33).
