A hard blow for FC Nantes and the atmosphere at the Beaujoire stadium until the end of the season.

The Disciplinary Committee of the French Football Federation (FFF) has indeed announced the closure of the Loire stand, the one that hosts the famous kop “Brigade Loire”, for the next two home matches.

This is a sanction following the use of numerous smoke bombs and pyrotechnic devices during the semi-final of the Coupe de France Nantes-Monaco, which had seen the public invade the lawn with joy at the final whistle.

The fans of the Loire stand were already in the sights of the authorities for past uses of smoke bombs.

The club appealed

The two matches concerned by the camera of the Loire stand are the derby against Stade Rennais on May 11 and the reception of AS Saint-Etienne on May 21.

The club, which obviously hoped to benefit from a full stadium for these two consecutive meetings in the final of the Coupe de France [May 7 against Nice], decided to appeal.

But, pending a possible other decision, the ticket office for this grandstand is closed.

In addition, FC Nantes' visitor parking lot was also given three closing matches, two of which were suspended, following the incidents that occurred during the Ligue 1 Brest-Nantes match on April 10.

This sanction was pronounced, this time, by the Disciplinary Committee of the Football League (LFP).

The firm suspension having already been served, all that remains is a reprieve.
