Southampton defender's season ends due to cruciate ligament

Southampton confirmed today, Wednesday, that defender Tino Livramento is expected to be absent until the end of 2022, after he ruptured the cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Livramento, the defender of the England under-21 team, received artificial respiration and was moved on a stretcher after he fell during the first half of the match in which the team tied with its host Brighton with two goals each last Sunday.

Waltut presented Livramento strangely when he tried to face Brighton midfielder Enoch Mwepo.

Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhuttl described the injury as "extremely dangerous", as the medical tests that the player underwent indicated that he needed surgery on his left knee.

"Southampton can confirm, with regret, that Tino Livramento has ruptured his cruciate ligament in his knee and is likely to be out until the end of the year," the club confirmed in a statement.
