The British have usually gone out in the first or second round and on a couple of occasions reached the quarterfinals since the magical two weeks in New York when she had a fabulous breakthrough and was thought to be a dominant factor in the sport for many years.

She reached the sensational fourth round at Wimbledon last year with coach Nigel Sears and then switched to Andrew Richardson ahead of the US tour with the US Open as the highlight.

After winning the US Open, Raducanu wanted a more experienced tour coach and began collaborating, after testing several coaches, with German Torben Beltz, 45, who, among other things, led Angelique Kerber to the position of world number one.

"Enjoyed the fine chemistry between us"

Now the collaboration is over after five months.

“I want to thank Torben for his training, professionalism and dedication over the past six months.

He has a big heart and I enjoyed the fine chemistry that arose during our time together ", Raducanu writes in a statement.

Now she is in Madrid to play the big tournament on gravel, which starts on Thursday.

She is with Iain Bates, President of the LTA, the British Tennis Association.

She will train under the auspices of the association while she can find a fourth coach in less than a year.

"I think I need to find a new training model to develop and I think that training with LTA gives the best effect during this intermediate period," writes Raducanu, who despite the weak results is eleven in the world rankings.
