The Finnish Joker has decided to leave the KHL as a result of Russia's invasion war in Ukraine.

The home arena in Helsinki is also a hot topic of debate, as the owners are on the EU sanctions list.

Now the legendary Teemu Selänne says he has gathered a group of investors who want to buy the arena.

But since it is not allowed to do business with people on the sanctions list, the purchase will be difficult.

- In today's situation, a deal is more or less impossible to complete.

But I have a bunch that can step forward if the chance arises and the situation changes, says Selänne according to Hufvudstadsbladet.

Selänne has previously been seen in pictures with various oligarchs, writes Hufvudstadsbladet.

Now he clearly distances himself from Russia.

- It's time to open your eyes and stop these clown games with the Russians.

I do not want to say its more about the war, but it is quite clear that Russia must be cleaned up radically in order for the country to be in any way salable again, he says and continues:

- Throughout the years, I have tried to have an open mind when it comes to Russia and what they do.

But the war was the last straw.

I feel no sympathy at all with them and do not want anything to do with them ever again.
