A great initiative that finally takes the water.

Olympique de Marseille has given up inviting children to the north corner of the Vélodrome stadium for the semi-final of the Europa League Conference against Feyenoord Rotterdam on May 5.

The initiative to invite children from OM's partner club, and Ukrainian children, had been in the pipeline since UEFA closed the north bend and the incidents that occurred during the quarter-final first leg against PAOK, in Marseilles.

OM had already invited children to the Europa League group match against Lazio Rome, after a first closure.

“It is not a refusal from UEFA, it is we who decide to give up this invitation because of the security risks”, explains OM to

The first leg of this semi-final is played this Thursday (9 p.m.) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
