FC Bayern's dominance in the Bundesliga has reached a new high.

On Saturday evening, the Munich team became German champions for the tenth time in a row in a direct duel with the only remaining pursuer Borussia Dortmund.

With a 3-1 home win in their own arena, the record champions secured the title early on matchday 31.

With a twelve-point lead over BVB, Bayern can no longer be ousted from first place.

Serge Gnabry (15th minute) and Robert Lewandowski (34th) scored for Munich.

Another goal by Gnabry (29th) did not count according to the pictures of referee Daniel Siebert's video assistant.

After the break, Dortmund got back into the game with a converted penalty from Emre Can (52nd).

But it wasn't enough to compensate.

Instead, Jamal Musiala (83rd) followed up.

And so the now traditional German football party could begin.

This year, however, it is only a little the consolation prize for Munich.

In the DFB Cup, they were eliminated in the second round with a 0:5 in Mönchengladbach.

In the Champions League, the surprising end against outsiders FC Villarreal came in the quarter-finals.

The new coach Julian Nagelsmann won his first championship.

In the rest of the season, however, it is no longer about anything for Bayern.
