Manchester City issued a warning to Real Madrid, their next competitor in the Champions League semi-finals, after their overwhelming victory over Watford 5-1, today, Saturday, in the 34th round of the English Premier League, while Arsenal dashed Manchester United's dreams of reaching the Champions League.

Manchester City took a new step towards retaining the English Premier League title, thanks to its precious victory, which keeps it in the lead by 4 points from its pursuit of Liverpool, which meets its guest, Everton, on Sunday.

Gabriel Jesus scored four goals, and Rodri added one, while Watford's goal came from Hassan Kamara before half an hour from the start.

City's tally of 80 points from 33 games is four points behind second-placed Liverpool, who played 32 games.

The victory came a day before the clash between Manchester City and Real Madrid next Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

On the other hand, Arsenal dealt a blow to the hopes of its guest, Manchester United, for a place in the English Premier League semi-finals, when they beat

them 3-1.

Arsenal's goals were scored by Nuno Tavares, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka, while Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo scored Manchester United's only goal.

Ronaldo's 100th goal in the Premier League came after a painful experience for the Portuguese striker, who lost his baby boy last week.

Arsenal fans showed

support for Ronaldo by greeting the owner of the number 7 shirt for a long time in the seventh minute, as did the Liverpool fans in

the last round during the 4-0 victory over United.

Arsenal advanced to fourth place with 60 points, three points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who face Brentford today.

United comes sixth, and its interim coach, Ralf Rangnick, admitted losing hope of entering the semi-finals in the last four rounds of the season.

Rangnick said United's chances of finishing the season in the top four are over.

"For me, even before the match, our chance was very weak,

but after today's result, things are over."
