UEFA announced on Thursday that video assistant refereeing (VAR) would be used from the semi-finals of the Europa League Conference, the only continental competition in which this technology has not yet been deployed this season.
VAR will also be used in the final of this competition, which will take place in Tirana, Albania on May 25.
“The possible deployment of the VAR from the previous rounds of the competition next season is currently under study”, adds UEFA in a press release.
The semi-finals of the Europa League Conference will pit Feyenoord Rotterdam against Olympique de Marseille and Leicester against AS Roma on April 28 and May 5.
